When things change earlier than expected

We’re in the northern hemisphere at the moment and it already feels like autumn - in August!

The leaves are changing colours. And we even found the first chestnuts!

There's a special light in autumn. The sunsets are softer somehow.

It feels like nature is enjoying the last rays of light and warmth, preparing for the long period of rest during winter.

It makes me reflect on the transitions we go through in our careers and lives.

Just like in autumn, they can be colourful, picturesque and sunny. But they can also be stormy and chilling. Most likely, you'll get a bit of both!

And, just like autumn this year, sometimes they can start a bit too early, and you don't feel ready for things to change; maybe you feel nostalgic for what is about to end too soon.

It can feel really disorientating, stressful and lonely when...

  • you are moving from something familiar to something unfamiliar

  • you have to figure out how things work again

  • you have to deal with uncertainty about what the future will bring

  • you don’t have your support network around you

Sometimes it helps to work through these things with someone else.

Someone you trust who really listens to you but doesn’t have their own agenda and doesn’t judge you. Someone who works with you to draw out your strengths and to see things from a new perspective.

If you’re looking for someone like that, let’s have a chat.
